Attendance

I expect regular, weekly attendance at all scheduled lessons. Please think of your lesson time as our weekly commitment and do not schedule other appointments during this time.

Cancellations and Lateness

For lessons that are forgotten, or canceled without emergency with less than 48 hours' notice, you will still be charged for the lesson time. To try and reschedule a lesson, I will need up to 48 hours in advance with the exception of emergency situations. Sports activities, pre-planned appointments, birthday parties, etc. do not count as emergency situations.

If you are late for the lesson, I am not obligated to make up the time.

Parent and Child Involvement

The Suzuki method requires a contribution from a parent to regularly guide and monitor practices at home, as well as attending weekly lessons.

Practice

Careful daily practice and listening to Suzuki recordings are the most important things you can do to make lessons and practicing fun!

Group classes

Weekly lessons are offered with VermontSuzukiviolins.org
Please contact Rachel or Pam Reit for more information.

Recitals

My private studio offers 1 recital a year. If you are involved with group class you are able to have more performance opportunities.

Do students learn to read music?

Yes! Reading music is an essential skill for musicians, and while it is not introduced immediately in the Suzuki method, it is a priority in my teaching when students are ready!
